Ciao friends and fellow collectors. One of the last e-mails i sent to Herpa was about the B737 classic; as you have noticed Herpa is not producing B737-300, B737-400 and B737-500 for a lot of time, so i asked them why. Their answer was that the mould were very old and that they were not sure if update the moulds. So, about the B737, Herpa produces the B737NG and, among them, the B737-800 and -900 (the B737-700 is not so considered).
Many B737-300, -400 and -500 are living a second and also a third life in Russia, Africa and South America, and even in Europe, Asia and USA there are airlines still serving their passengers with the beautiful B737 classic versions.

The B737-300 is 33,40 meters long, with a wingspan of 28,90 meters; the B737-700 is 33,60 meters long with a wingspan of 35,70 meters.
In 1:500 the dimensions are:
B737-300 -> 6,68 cm long x 5,78 cm wingspan
B737-700 -> 6,72 cm long x 7,14 cm wingspan.
Our friends Eurojet and Leonardo Mello have had the great insight that, in 1:500 scale, the B737-300 is almost the same of the B737-700 and Herpa should only change the wingspan, adding the wings of the old B737-300 mould to the B737-700 mould. In this way Herpa will obtain a B737-300 based on the (great) Inflight500 B737-700 mould.
Of course i don't think Herpa will re-start to produce the B737-300 just because some crazy people, us collectors, say them "Hey, put the wings of the B737-300 to the B737-700 mould and you will obtain a new, wonderful B737-300 model!", we're crazy but we are also customers and Herpa listens to the needs and suggestions, i'm sure about this! What do you think? Why don't send mails to Herpa asking for this changement? Why don't ask if it is possible, if Herpa is still interested in producing the B737-300 again and before this beautiful airplane will disappear from the sky?
