I have NOT been well.
Funny thing is, in the time I haven't been well, I never felt sick.
Let me start at the beginning.
My sister contracted this virus that gave her this monster flu type thing. Of course, she shared it with the rest of the family (yippee)
Now I never got sick, per say, and I don't feel sick.
I don't look it either, until I open my mouth. The only symptoms I have is this horrible chesty cough and the fact that I partially lost my voice.
Now the cough is really starting to bug me, because I don't feel unwell at all. But I cannot stop coughing. It gets really bad when I start to settle down for bed. As soon as my head hits the pillow, it's cough cough cough until I pass out. I know that's because whatever's causing me to cough is settling in my throat and lungs.
But is anyone able to offer me any remedies to ease the coughing during the day? I can put up with it at night, but at the moment, it's really p***ing me off during the day. My throat doesn't feel like there's anything there, yet I always have this urge to freaking cough.
I have a dancing convention coming up in a couple of weeks. Problem is, right now I sit and watch our rehearsals because too much movement makes me almost hack up a lung.
So if anyone can offer anything that might help, I would love you guys forever!
Here's what I'm currently doing:
- lots of water
- tea with honey
- throat lozenges
- showering without the fan on (to build up steam)
I don't want to go to a doctor unless it persists for more than two weeks. I want to see if I can ease it on my own first.
